Marival Residences & World Spa
Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico
My daughter Kristin, son-in-law Matt and 2 small grandsons Lukas and Jakob, vacationed at this top rated all-inclusive in Nuevo Vallarta, just minutes from the Puerto Vallarta airport. My daughter offered to write a review her family's experience at the Marival Residences and World Spa...
Being a mom of two small children and a wife ready to celebrate her 4th wedding anniversary, finding the perfect resort was a very difficult task. We wanted enough room for my husband and I to have privacy when the kids went to bed, a beautiful and safe pool for the little ones, gourmet food, top notch service and a magnificent resort. Not too much to ask for, right? There was no way I thought my Mom could find a place that would meet all our needs! However, I was pleasantly surprised...no, BLOWN AWAY with what the Marival Residences and World Spa had to offer us!
We honestly could not have been more thrilled with our stay, from the moment we walked in the door! We were immediately greeted with fresh, warm towels to get all the sweat/germs off of us from the plane ride and offered a refreshing drink. Lukas was delighted with the pineapple juice and cookie they brought him. This is how you are treated each moment at the Marival, like ROYALTY and with sincerity. We were given a tour of this spectacular property including all of the restaurants. There are 3 restaurants. There is a tapas bar on the top floor with an infinity pool over looking the ocean. They have tapas from around the world and it is amazing. There is something for everyone. Our family favorite was the corndog shrimp...Delish! This is the perfect spot to watch the sunset and relax. Omaggio is an indoor/outdoor restaurant that has a different cuisine theme each night which is elegant, with outstanding food choices...at all times there is a kids menu available. Lemon Grass is the outdoor restaurant which is also where you can order your poolside lunch from. The chicken wings, ceviche, ice cream sandwiches and fruit plates were our personal favorites.
Our first glimpse of the pool, and we knew we were in the perfect place for our family! It is absolutely PRISTINE! The pool is divided into 3 sections. The first is zero depth which is perfect for the little ones. Families with children usually gathered here. With that being said, there were not families with loud, screaming children at all...well besides us :) The middle section is great because it is shallow around the edges and then deep in the middle, while the last section is just deep. In addition, there is an adults only relaxation spa/pool surrounded by cabana beds. This is the perfect pool scenario for EVERYONE! In addition, on the grounds there are multiple huts for relaxing and talking, plus a beautiful gas fire pit to gather around in the evenings. All of this is serviced by the pool staff who are unbelievably ATTENTIVE. As we finished up our tour of the resort, we also spotted an outdoor playground perfect for our little boys to burn off some energy!
When we were finally escorted to our room, my first impression was, OH MY GOODNESS! It was like nothing I had ever seen before. Everything was beyond clean and the decor was gorgeous. The best part was that it was kept this way our entire stay due to the outstanding housekeeping staff. The balcony off the master bedroom and living room had breathtaking ocean views with a table and seating for 4, plus two big comfy chairs. We sat out there often, enjoying the views. The full kitchen with breakfast bar was more than we could ask for...PLUS a dining room table. Every part of the room was BIG, BEAUTIFUL and REGAL. The best part was our ROOF TOP POOL! If you travel with little ones, this is a must! It was wonderful because while the boys were napping, Matt and I were able to swim in our own private pool instead of being stuck inside. And to top it off, there was also a washer and dryer right in our residence. Having 2 full bathrooms was an added bonus as well!
If there is ever a day or night you feel in the mood to party, you can always head over to the sister resort by a 5 minute golf cart ride. Here they have the pool games, a kids water park and nighttime clubs. This is also how you access the beach. The Marival Residences and World Spa is not located directly on the beach. We did not find this to be a problem at all, HONESTLY! There is a PRIVATE section at the sister resort for Marival Residence guests, with cabanas and private beach service waiting for you. There are also free boogie boards, kayaks and other water equipment to enjoy. If you are not considering this resort because of the lack of being right on the beach...DON'T, there are too many positive reasons to not consider staying here.
Overall, the resort is just MAGNIFICENT! One part that we missed out on was the nightlife. Although the resort is not a "party resort", many of the guests said with the 3 bars, and plenty of drinks to go around, it was perfect! There are not pool games and loud clubs but it still seemed like people had a blast. Matt and I are dying to go back alone to experience that, plus the excursions, which are included with the resort price. We heard wonderful things about all of the excursions from other guests. Luckily, we were at least able to take the boys on the dolphin encounter. It was INCREDIBLE! In addition, there is a sea lion encounter, catamaran ride, sunset boat cruise, and ziplining experience which are all FREE!
I could not have asked for a better family vacation. Our family requires A LOT and all our needs were met and MORE! Marival Residences and World Spa is beyond AMAZING!
